"The thing about music or art or literature — whatever — is, bottom line, it’s important to be able to express yourself and keep toxic emotions from accumulating. It can really affect your body if you aren’t able to process that stuff and get it out. So that was a huge part, just being able to take something that’s kind of horrific or hard to deal with emotionally, and make it into some kind of art. There’s something really positive about that. That’s why it’s a shame that’s the first thing to go in schools are arts programs, because it creates a healthier society. I don’t see how you could argue that."
